Project for 2013

For 2013 the members were asked to make a piece of embroidery that could be incorporated into a book that would then be used as the entry for the South East Regional competition 'Beautiful Branch Books'.

As 2013 was the 40th anniversary of the founding of the branch it was decided that the book would celebrate the anniversary.

Project for 2009 - The Harrow Skyline

In 2009 the members created a panel of the Harrow skyline from a photograph which is reproduced below. The photograph is 40" x 24" and has been cut into 60 4" squares. Sixty members were given a square each to embroider in any way they wanted to. All of the completed squares were then sewn together to recreate the picture in stitch.

Coral Day 2008

As part of our 35th anniversary celebrations the branch held a special day
where members met for an inspiring day.

As the 35th anniversary is Coral a range of activities with a coral
theme was put together.
The activities included

A really good day with 50 members, children and visitors enjoying themselves.  Some wonderful items of ‘coral’ were made which, hopefully, will be on show at the Branch exhibition in 2009.

Margaret Isaacs, the branch photographer, took lots of photographs, some of which are shown in the slideshow below.

The Mayor of Hillingdon came and stayed for nearly an hour chatting to members and visitors.  He was especially interested in what the Young Embroiderers were doing.
