I have always enjoyed sewing but my interest in embroidery started when I joined a class connected with the Townswomen's Guild and, from there, I was introduced to the Embroiderers' Guild which I joined some 27 years ago.
Having completed my City & Guilds Embroidery Part I and Part II, this led to my teaching Embroidery for Harrow Adult Education in the Harrow and Pinner areas

My interest lies with traditional embroidery and three dimensional projects such as embroidered box-making.  I have diversified more since retiring from teaching because I now also enjoy patchwork and quilting and, more recently,
I have been  gradually mastering fine beadwork.  Another long standing interest of mine is smocking and I am a member of a small group which is attached to the Smocking Branch of the Embroiderers' Guild.  I can honestly say that I am never happier than with a needle and thread in my hand.
