Harrow & Hillingdon Branch

History

The branch was formed in 1973 by Lynnette De Denne as the Harrow and District Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild. In 2015 the branch affiliated to the Hillingdon Arts Society and one of the conditions was that the branch had to include Hillingdon in its title. In 2016 the name was changed to Harrow & Hillingdon branch. We have a thriving membership of all ages, and from the founding 33 members, the membership has grown to approximately 60.

Meetings

We meet on the first Friday evening of each month and the meeting usually consists of a speaker, sales table, library and a short business meeting.  Several times a year we hold ‘Inspirational evenings’ where five or six members show the other members a stitch or an embroidery technique.

Branch Meetings are held on the first Friday  of the month (unless otherwise advised) at Pinner Village Hall, Chapel Lane, Pinner HA5 1AB from 7.45 to 10.15pm

Outings

The Branch also arranges occasional outings to embroidery exhibitions, Regional and Guild events.
